The High Tech Center Training Unit of the California Community Colleges is a state of the art training and support facility for community college faculty and staff wishing to acquire or improve teaching skills, methodologies, and pedagogy in Assistive Computer Technology, Alternate Media and Web Accessibility. The HTCTU supports High Tech Center programs at one-hundred and fourteen community colleges and satellite centers. More than ten thousand students with disabilities are enrolled in High Tech Center programs state-wide.

The High Tech Center Training Unit is happy to announce a new project for California Community Colleges using the SharePoint CMS to deliver content to students. Twenty (20) free licenses will be provided to California Community Colleges who successfully complete and satisfy the competitve application (Application deadline is April 12, 2013). Additional licenses will be available at substantial discounts for campuses who do not win one of the 20 free licenses. Project overview and application is available here.
The HighTech Center Training Unit has purchased access to the AT collection of Atomic learning for the California Community College system. The AT collection features tutorials and information on how to utilize various assistive technologies as well as information on how to create accessible content with mainstream software applications.
