Uses Line 21 standard—can be turned on and off DVD track—can be turned on and off
Requires decoder—built into TV and some overhead projectors (Epson 6100i) or external—computer requires software (e.g. WMP) No decoder required—can be played on computer
No menu structure required to turn on (decoder required) Requires menu structure to turn on (unless the DVD player supports subtitles)

White text on dark background No background, but stroke and fill controllable
