Trainings

Trainings at the High Tech Center Training Unit may consist of one, two, or three days of instruction and hands-on activities. The trainings are designed to inform and support faculty and staff within the California Community College system. Participants who are part of their college's DSP&S section and attend trainings conducted at the HTCTU are eligible to receive travel and lodging reimbursement from the HTCTU. The HTCTU does not provide travel reimbursement for vendor trainings or trainings conducted at local colleges.

Trainings at the HTCTU generally begin at 10:00AM and conclude by 4:30pm. Two or three-day trainings may begin the second and third day session at 9:00AM. It is best to check with the instructor as to the time of the training for the second or third session.

The HTCTU is located approximately 20 minutes from San Jose International Airport and approximately 55 minutes from San Francisco International Airport.

  7. Vendor trainings are never eligible for reimbursement.
  8. Any special circumstances which might warrant exemptions to these guidelines must be discussed with HTCTU staff prior to attending the training in question.
  9. Reimbursement is not available when attending the same training more than once within the same academic year.
