Software/Web Page Accessibility
California Community Colleges should make every effort to obtain software or web-based resources that provide equivalent learning experiences and are fully accessible to students with disabilities. In some instances, the highly graphical interfaces designed for use by students with learning disabilities may not be accessible to students who are blind or have low vision.
Colleges may wish to consider asking software or Web resource providers to complete a VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) prior to purchase.
Colleges might also incorporate the Access Board's final accessibility standards for electronic and information technology covered by section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
